We are in Catron County in the village of Reserve, the county seat. The crew of Jan, Julie, Richard, Kay and Jessica just set off on the adventure of ATVing. I have elected not to go to take a well needed break after yesterday’s 8 mile climb up into the mountains yesterday. The altitude and accumulation of activity packed days told my body “hold up” a bit and I have chosen to do so.
The village of Reserve is very quaint, in some ways time has stopped. No huge department stores, just Jake’s General Store which I intend to visit in a while and hopefully get some oral history of the town to share with you.

Today I went shopping with Lori, our food manager. It was delightful talking to towns people about we are doing and some of what they do. Danny, at the grocery store, said that he had seen our story on the news last week. He was very intrigued by the adventure and encouraged us by saying he would keep up with the events along the way and the journal entries.
I enjoyed the drive out to the camp ground where we will spend two nights. I am sitting under some pines trees on a wooden picnic table right now using my computer to share all the happenings of the last week with you. The wonders of technology on Public Lands!!!!
